Sichuan Earthquake in China

An open letter from Colin & Sarah Wilcock with regard to the earthquake that hit China this week.

We're sure you will have heard of the earthquake in Sichuan province in China and many of you will remember that this is where we lived in 2000/1 and the area and its people are still very close to our hearts.

China Quake

We still have friends and colleagues (Alpha Communities has a field office in Sichuan) in the area, who are thankfully all okay. However, we do not know what has happened to many of the local people that Alpha Communities still works with in the area. We have just received the following email from our colleague who is in Chengdu at the moment and would ask you to consider if you are able to help our colleagues in being able to respond to this disaster. They are on the ground with very good relationships in some of the remote and difficult to reach areas as well as good language skills. We're sure you will realise from the news pictures and stories how important this is at this time.

Please do pray for the people of Sichuan at this time - from what we hear people are in panic, shock and grief. Please also pray that the relief effort will be fast and effective.

With thanks
Colin & Sarah
