Calling all artists, poets and creatives
This Easter weekend we are trying something new. On Good Friday Rev's will be holding an art exhibition/space for meditation and prayer created by 'us' - the body of Christ at Revs. We would love to involve anyone who wants to make a contribution. The exhibition could include anything - art, installations, design, photography, sculpture, music, poetry, meditation, dance, finger painting. The inspiration will be the passion week. Read more here to be inspired and if you want to get involved add a comment or talk to Ellie.

I've been inspired recently about the journeys we make together to discover Christ - in particular the journey of Advent, the anticipation and waiting, and the journey of Passion Week - sharing in the suffering, the darkness, the hope and the resurrection. Maggie's talk at our Passion meeting brought a lot of these themes together for me and I started to dream about a creating a space for prayer, for waiting with God through Good Friday, and making the journey towards Easter something I could actively take part in.
I would love the exhibition to express who we are as a body of Christ, to embrace our passions, our hearts expressed through all the creativity God has shared with us. I also wanted to build into our 'long weekend' a meaningful time for God; re-discovering a tradition that can be lost to us, but one we can learn from other denominations. I want the space to be a place you can visit on your own, come as a family to, bring kids, bring your friends too, open to all to explore, stay for 10 minutes, or hours.
In doing research around the stations of the cross, and looking at how other communities have explored celebrating Easter in this way, I've put together some thoughts about the journey the exhibition would take people on. If you want to be involved - read through these ideas and be inspired, in the next couple of weeks we'll get started in making it happen.
(com)passion
meaning literally 'suffering with'
Jesus taking our suffering onto himself, and through the easter week, having compassion on us. Jesus identifies himself completely at the heart of our suffering, pain and sin. In a reciprocal act, like Mary and John, we can travel the final hours with Christ and suffer the pain and sacrifice along side him.
